Veterans

The Mountain Community Veterans Coalition is a new resource for all veterans and their families. Formed in January 2009, the goal of the coalition is to involve local groups and professionals in developing programs to address the needs of veterans in our rural area. The coalition meets at Mountain Resource Center every other month on the second Tuesday. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings.

Private psychotherapists, physicians, Rotarians and families of veterans also attend meetings.

MRC’s Mountain Workforce Center works with veterans who need access to a computer lab or help in upgrading computer skills, writing resumes or looking for jobs. Two veteran employment and benefit specialists from the state meet with veterans on-site twice each month.
